N2 Electrical And Security Supplies Tailteann Shield Semi-Final
Dunganny was the venue for this Tailteann Shield Semi-Final between Moynalty and last years beaten Junior B Championship side, Slane.
Paul Lynch opened the scoring, to which Slane quickly replied. There was a good pause before any further action between the posts occurred with both sides guilty of wides.
The next 3 scores came the way of Moynalty, 2 from play and 1 from a free. Slane then got a lifeline when their talisman, Podge Mc Gowan, got a goal. After adding a point, this left the bare minimum between the sides.
With half time looming it was the reds that finished the strongest with a point a piece from Paul Lynch and John Brogan. Leaving half time score Moynalty 0:06, Slane 1:02.
Second half, it was the blues that were the quickest out of the traps putting over two points to go one ahead again.
There was never anything between these two teams at any time they played and tonight was no different.
Moynalty then landed a speculative ball into the square which Paul Lynch got on the end of and blasted to the net to put their noses ahead once again.
It wasn't enough however as Slane bounced back once again and hit the next four points on the trot.
With Moynalty receiving an indirect free in the 41st minute of the second half - the ball was landed into the danger area to which Pauric O' Connor latched on and kicked it into the net for a Moynalty win and broke Slane's hearts.
Moynalty now meet Boardsmill in the Final.
