The game between Moynalty and St Vincent's took place on Sunday morning in Moynalty, it been the first game back on our newly renovated pitch. St Vincents started strong and took an early lead with a goal. However, James Lynch replied with two points to narrow the gap. St Vincents proved to be a formidable team with strong players all over the field making it difficult for Moynalty to break them down. Jude Gilsenan managed to score a goal for Moynalty, bringing the margin to just one point. Vincents were reduced to 14 men after a second yellow card offence early in the first half - leaving Moynalty with the numerical advantage for much of the game. Despite being a player down, St Vincents went on a scoring spree and hit six consecutive points. However, Moynalty managed to score a free kick through James Lynch. Referee Paddy Clarke blew the halftime whistle with the score at Moynalty 1:03, St Vincents 1:06. Moynalty fought back early in the second half with Raymie Owens fielding high in the middle of the field before a quick one-two culminated with him kicking an excellent score over the bar. Ollie Sheridan and Brian Carolan also contributed with one point each straight after. It seemed that St Vincents were pulling away and would secure the victory, but Moynalty didn't give up. Jude Gilsenan kicked the ball into the square with Jack McEntee taking full advantage of the opportunity, pouncing on the ball and kicking it to the back of the net. This goal brought Moynalty back within a kick of the ball. However, St Vincents rallied once again and scored the last three points of the game. The final score was Moynalty 2:07 and St Vincents 1:16.
