Meath Cleaning Supplies-Premier Football Championship Div 7
Moynalty made the trip to Curraha on Sunday morning to play this Premier Championship tie in ideal weather conditions.
Management were looking for a positive performance after two disappointing results against St Colmcille’s and Kilbride.
Moynalty opened the scoring with 3 points from Jack Farrell, James Lynch and Michael Cahill. Curraha did respond with 2 of their own which turned out to be their only scores of this half.
Moynalty hit 1-02 before Liam Reddy blew for half time, with Paddy Farrelly getting the 3 pointer with a good finish.
Half Time Score:
Moynalty 1:05
Curraha 0:02
Moynalty hit 4 quick fire points early in the second half which in the end up turned out to be 30 minutes of goals. Michael Cahill got himself a double, scoring the clubs 2nd & 3rd goal.
After the home side got one of their own, Jude Gilsenan cancelled it quickly when he got in by Curraha's defence for to shoot past the goalkeeper. Another green flag raised.
A win was crucial for Moynalty in this competition. James Lynch was eager to get a goal of his own and that he surely did heading towards the end of the game.
The win was badly needed to take us off the bottom of the table and this fine team performance is hopefully a sign of things to come. There were good performances from Jack Farrell, Shaun Nevin, Michael Cahill, Kevin Farrelly, Conor O' Reilly and Peter Olwill.
