Tributes were paid to the late Patsy Cahill and Eugene Geraghty
Tributes were paid to two GAA stalwarts from the county who recently passed away, Eugene Geraghty of the Duleek / Bellewstown club and Patsy Cahill of Moynalty, at the July meeting of the County Committee.
Oliver Cudden recalled his former clubmate Eugene Geraghty as a successful player and official, one of the highlights of his playing career being when helping Duleek to IFC honours with a final victory over Ballivor in 1966.
Eugene played minor football for Meath and later served as chairman of Duleek GFC.
Brendan Cummins spoke of the contribution of Patsy Cahill, who was a fine footballer before serving as a referee, The Leinster Council rep said that both deceased men contributed in the role of umpire in recent years.
